Forms in Space - Parallel Planes
Euclidian parallelism: parallel lines or planes in the same three-dimensional space that never meet. The definition first appears as Definition 23 in Book 1 of Euclid’s Elements. The Elements is a mathematical treatis written in 300BC by the Ancient Greek mathematician Euclid (Wikipedia). The pieces in this series are constructed using two dimensional forms, layered in parallel, with empty space between each form. It is interesting to think of how two dimensional forms, when interacting, then create a three dimensional form.
